Why SellBotAI Connects to Your eBay Account
How eBay sign-in works, what access SellBotAI requests, and how you stay in control.
SellBotAI turns your product photos into editable eBay listings. Connecting your eBay account lets you sign in and use SellBotAI with your store, without creating another password.

Why sign in with eBay?
SellBotAI is built specifically for eBay sellers. It needs a connection to your seller account to work with your listing information and publish the listings you approve.
Your eBay account also identifies your SellBotAI account. Combining sign-in and account connection means you do not need to create a separate SellBotAI password and then connect eBay in another step.
What happens when you sign in?
- Go to eBay. Choose “Sign in with eBay” on SellBotAI. We send you to eBay's own sign-in page.
- Review access. Sign in on eBay and review the permissions shown on its authorization screen when prompted. You can leave without approving access.
- Return to SellBotAI. After you approve, eBay sends you back so you can finish setting up your account.
Instead of sharing your password, eBay gives SellBotAI authorization tokens that let the app make permitted requests on your behalf. SellBotAI stores these tokens encrypted in its database.
What access does SellBotAI request?
The connection supports three parts of the listing workflow:
- Account identification: reading profile information that identifies your eBay account.
- Listing features: working with listing information and photos, checking listings, and publishing when you choose to do so.
- Selling preferences and Business Policies: reading the payment, shipping, and return policies used by your listings, and helping set up missing policies when you request it.
eBay groups permissions into broader capabilities, so its authorization screen may use different wording from these examples. Review that screen before approving the connection.
You decide what gets published
Signing in does not publish anything to eBay. Generating a listing creates an editable draft in SellBotAI. Review the photos, title, description, price, and selling settings before selecting Publish Item.
Calculate Fees checks the listing and requests an estimate from eBay; it does not publish it.
Business Policy setup is a separate action. If you choose Create them for me, SellBotAI can enroll your account in eBay's Business Policies program and create missing payment, shipping, or return policies. That setup does not publish a listing.
How to disconnect SellBotAI
- Sign in to eBay and open your account settings.
- Go to Sign in and security, then Third-party app access.
- Find SellBotAI and follow eBay's option to revoke its authorization.
eBay-connected features may ask you to connect again after access is revoked. Signing out of SellBotAI only ends your SellBotAI session; it does not revoke the eBay connection.
Revoking eBay access does not cancel a SellBotAI subscription or delete your SellBotAI account. Manage your subscription separately or contact support for account help.
