This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we share it—specifically regarding our use of Artificial Intelligence.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account & Profile Information

To create an account, you must authenticate via eBay and complete our registration process. We collect:

  • Directly From You: Your full name, direct email address, and zip code (for item location defaults).
  • Automatically From eBay: Your eBay username, eBay User ID, and your existing Business Policies (Shipping, Return, and Payment profiles).
  • Payment Data: To process your subscription, we utilize Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers.
B. User Content

To function, our Service requires you to upload data. We collect:

  • Images: Photos of items you intend to sell.
  • Item Notes: Text descriptions, condition notes, or "tricks" you input to guide the AI.
  • Listing Data: The final titles, descriptions, and specifics generated by the Service.
C. Information Automatically Collected

We automatically collect device and usage information, such as IP address, browser characteristics, operating system, and referring URLs. This is used for security, analytics, and debugging.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for legitimate business purposes:

  • To Generate Listings (Core Service): We process your uploaded images and text to generate eBay-ready titles, descriptions, and item specifics.
  • To Improve Our AI Models: We may use anonymized listing data and images to refine our prompt engineering and train future internal AI models. We will not use your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for this purpose.
  • To Maintain Security: To identify and prevent fraud, "prompt injection" attacks, or illegal usage.
  • To Facilitate eBay Integration: To post listings directly to your eBay account and sync inventory status.

3. Sharing Your Information

We are transparent about where your data goes. To provide our Service, we must transmit data to the following third-party processors:

A. AI Processors (OpenAI)

We utilize OpenAI API services to analyze your images and generate text.

  • What we send: Your uploaded item photos and item notes.
  • Why: To perform computer vision analysis and text generation.
  • Privacy: Data sent via the API is subject to OpenAI’s Enterprise privacy standards and is generally not used to train their public models, though it may be retained temporarily for abuse monitoring.
B. eBay Inc.
  • What we send: Final listing data (Titles, Photos, Descriptions).
  • Why: To publish your listings to the marketplace.
C. Service Providers
  • Stripe: For payment processing.
  • Google Analytics: For website traffic analysis.
  • TinyMCE: For rich text editing functionality.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers.

4. Authentication & eBay Data Access

Our Service uses eBay Single Sign-On (SSO) for authentication.

  • The "Hybrid" Account: While you log in via eBay, you must provide a valid email address for service notifications. We do not use the obfuscated email address provided by eBay APIs for customer support or billing.
  • OAuth Authorization: When you log in, you authorize eBay to issue us a secure "Access Token." This allows us to fetch your Business Policies and post listings on your behalf.
  • No Password Storage: We never view, process, or store your eBay password.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. You can control cookies via your browser settings, but disabling them may prevent the Service from functioning (e.g., you may not be able to stay logged in).

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law.

  • Images & Listings: Retained while your account is active to allow you to edit/relist items.
  • Inactive Accounts: If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, unless a longer retention period is required by tax law.

7. eBay Marketplace Account Deletion

In compliance with eBay Developer Policies, we honor all eBay Marketplace Account Deletion notifications.

  • If eBay notifies us that you have requested the deletion of your data, we will automatically delete all personal data associated with your user ID from our servers within the mandated timeframe.
  • You may also manually request data deletion by emailing support@sellbotai.com.

8. Minors

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (including California), you may have the right to:

  1. Request access to the personal information we collect about you.
  2. Request that we correct or delete your personal information.
  3. Opt-out of marketing communications.
